Jeff Andersen is the Market President for Centrus Health Direct powered by SYNC, a new joint venture between Centrus Health Kansas City, a physician-led clinically integrated network, and Healthcare Highways, a nationally recognized leader in medical provider network services. Centrus Health Direct enhances direct-to-employer healthcare solutions, offering employers in the Kansas City market more choice for improved access to high-quality care through cost-effective health plan options. As market president, Jeff is responsible for driving market strategy, strengthening partnerships with employers, and leading growth efforts that prioritize affordability, accessibility, and value in care.
Prior to Centrus Health Direct, Jeff served as the Vice President of Payor and Market strategy for The University of Kansas Health System, a $5 billion health system. In the Vice President role, Jeff led strategic planning, decision-making, and administration for the Managed Care team. His responsibilities spanned the health system’s hospitals, physicians, surgery centers, and affiliated entities. Jeff provided leadership guiding payor strategy, strengthening provider networks, and advancing value-based care initiatives across the organization.
In 2018, Jeff served in the Governor’s Cabinet as Secretary of the Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE), where he led the Kansas Medicaid program. He also served as President and CEO of Mid-America Service Solutions at Vizient—a consolidated service center owned by ten hospitals, supporting over 200 hospitals across the Midwest. Additionally, he led Vizient’s Managed Care and Insurance Services programs. Early in his career, Jeff worked for Humana health plans as well as HCA.
